Classroom lectures like this are limited.

The emphasis is on hands on practical range training.

Students are not required to buy ammunition from the Academy but may reserve it on the registration form. Factory or reloaded ammo, (full metal jacket, hollow point, or lead bullets) are acceptable provided it is safe and reliable. You are encouraged to recover your brass. Student's pistols should be safe and reliable. They should also be the weapon with which you wish to become most proficient. We do encourage you to bring additional firearms and appropriate ammunition if you choose. Naturally, as a practical defensive pistol course, you'll also need a quality holster, belt, and ammunition carriers. A restraining device (thumbbreak etc.) is optional but there are physical movements required and safe retention is essential. A detailed equipment list is included in your confirmation packet, and is listed at the bottom of each class description on the web pages. It's important that your equipment and ammunition be as reliable as possible for you to get maximum benefit of the instruction provided.

Individual instruction is a hallmark at the Chapman Academy.
